About

Dr. Phelecia A. Udoko

Wah Gwan!

I am happy that you are here to seek support! Let me first introduce myself!

I am a Leadership & Psychology Professor, Business Consultant, Mom Coach and most importantly a wife and mother of six children! Yes six! Three amazing boys and three beautiful girls. My husband and I have been happily married for over 14 years, and our children’s age ranges from toddler to mid teen age. My family’s home life is very busy, having home schooled kids, a fifteen-year-old in college and managing daily travel for kids sporting and extracurricular activities!

I immigrated from Jamaica to the United States as a teenager and have lived here since!

When I began my journey of motherhood, I knew there was no turning back, and that I had to evolve in my role. I opened my heart and mind to welcome the powerful, life transforming and beautiful life ahead–15 years and six children later, I am still enjoying this journey and would do it over and over again!

My journey through motherhood, while empowering, beautiful and life changing, was certainly not easy! I had MANY ups and downs, from experiencing magical births of my children, seeing them thrive in all areas of their lives, to landing my dream job and career to facing death, navigating chronic health battles, and loss. With all these ebbs and flows, I’ve found the power and strength to triumphantly navigate it all!

Moms face a great deal of psychological guilt and exhaustion. Moms face tremendous pressure to be perfect and wear many different hats. From carrying around weight from expectations to be a good wife/partner, being a good mother and raising “good” children, taking care of their homes, contributing to the financial needs of the family, dealing with the children’s education, to being an “ideal” employee! Mothers also face internal pressures to “have it all” as we desire to be our best selves and show up for our families and everyone else around us!

But all the energy and changes that mothers experience can lead to burnout, and push mothers to feel overwhelmed, guilty, stressed and hopeless. Without resolving this tension, some mothers may break down, or limit their goals, dreams and aspirations, quit their jobs, or face health challenges. But you do not have to become this way. We can successfully walk through this journey together!

I have helped hundreds of women go through cycles of burnout, stress, guilt, blame and resentment, to feeling alive, fulfilled, present, satisfied and energized while they are in the crux of motherhood! I use evidence-based practices and research, combined with my education and lifetime’s experiences of motherhood to help mom’s be the mom that they desire to be—in a matter of weeks!!

As a PhD-trained Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychologist, I’ve dedicated my career to understanding the complexities of career development, work-life balance, and organizational leadership. My years of research and practical experience have shaped my passion for helping individuals find success in their careers without sacrificing family or personal well-being.

Also, as a Professor, specializing in leadership development, career development and professional growth. I mentor and train students and professionals to reach their highest potential. I’ve also worked as an employee assessor and organizational consultant for years, assisting organizations in fostering inclusive, high-performance workplaces. But what truly sets me apart is my real-world understanding and experiences of work-life balance as a successful career mom!

Being an immigrant, I also know firsthand the challenges and triumphs of building a career and a life in a new culture. As a mother of six, I’ve also learned how to navigate the delicate balance between professional ambition and personal/family life. My children’s success is a testament to my ability to manage both career and family effectively, and I’m deeply committed to helping other immigrant mothers achieve similar success.
